“Night to Shine” creates unforgettable prom experience for people with disabilities
WILMINGTON, MC (WWAY)– Friday night, hundreds of people dressed in their best, creating unforgettable memories on their night to shine.
Night To Shine is a enduring prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older.
The event is sponsored by legendary football player Tim Tebow, and was hosted by Port City Community Church in Wilmington.
Some of the activities at the prom included a red-carpet walk, photo booths, music, karaoke, and even limousine rides.
Pastor of Lifepoint Church, Jeff Kapusta, says they help put this event on each year to bless this group of people who are often marginalized
“If you look across the event, you’re going to see smiles, you’re going to see dancing, you’re going to see karaoke. This is a night to just simply celebrate. And I think that’s what it says. It says we love you, and we celebrate you. So, I hope that’s what they take away from the night,” said Kapusta.
More than 900 people volunteered to make this night the perfect prom experience for those that attended.
