Novant Health receives awards from American Heart Association

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) —

The first is a gold plus in heart failure.   

John Rommel, Director of Heart Failure for Novant Heart and Vascular, says they have been working toward this for a long time, and is grateful for the recognition.   

“It’s a great way to get rewarded for the hard work that so many of our teammates are doing on a day-to-day basis, providing great heart failure care in the hospital and in the community,” says Rommel.   

Novant also received a gold plus in stroke awareness.    

Dr. Jeffrey Beecher, Interim Institute Leader for Neurosciences at Novant Health, says he is very proud of the recognition and of the work from the entire neurology team.  

“What this award lets us know is that we are doing a great job taking care of these stroke patients, it’s an award referring to the outcomes that they’re having and it’s showing us that we’re doing exactly what we thought we were doing, which is a great job for our community,” said Beecher.
