‘Own Your Own’ restaurant deal winner backs out

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Nearly half a year after the results of the ‘Own Your Own’ contest were announced, the winner has backed out.

Karoline Schwartz from Tabernash, Colorado, was announced as the winner in October.

She beat out the other finalist, Vincent Mangual, and nearly 500 other applicants and participants.

But now, Schwartz has decided not to move forward.
