Part of West Pelican Drive to close for water and sewer construction

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A portion of West Pelican Drive in Wrightsville Beach will be closed for about one month for construction.
The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority says the closure will start on Wednesday, January 21, while crews complete work for the CFPUA Intracoastal Waterway Water and Sewer Crossing Project.
Starting at 7 a.m., West Pelican Drive will be closed to traffic in both directions between Lees Cut and the driveway for the Wrightsville Beach Boating Access Area.
Drivers are asked to detour around the closure via Driftwood Court.
Lees Cut will remain open during the construction and traffic into and out of the boat ramp parking lot will not be impacted.
