Pedestrian struck, killed in North Carolina

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina police say a pedestrian was struck and killed.

A news release from the Winston Salem Police Department said the crash happened Friday night near Hanes Mall.

The pedestrian, a 60-year-old man, was crossing the road when he was struck. He was taken to a hospital and succumbed to his injuries.

There were several passengers in the vehicle but none were injured.

The news release says the crash is under investigation but doesn’t make clear if any charges are expected.
