Pender County Animal Shelter offering free adoptions through Sunday
BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — In honor of the July 4th holiday, the Pender County Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees for dozens of pets in need of a home.
13 cats and 18 dogs are available for adoption at no cost through the close of business on Sunday. Each animal has been vaccinated, treated for parasites, spayed or neutered, and microchipped.
Shelter staff say they are currently out of space.
“These guys are desperately seeking homes,” the shelter wrote on Facebook.
The shelter will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of the holiday but will be open Saturday and Sunday.
