Pender County schools light up fields for spring student athletes

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — All three high schools in Pender County did something special Thursday night for spring athletes who won’t get to play their season due to the coronavirus pandemic by bringing some light to a dark situation.

The schools’ administrators turned on all the lights at the athletic facilities to honor their student athletes.

Students across North Carolina have been out of school for almost a month.
