Plastic Ocean Project to host fourth annual grateful dead-inspired benefit concert

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Plastic Ocean Project announced their fourth annual benefit concert.
The concert held on March 6 at 6 p.m. at Bowstring Bar will support the ocean project.
Attendees can expect live music from Shakedown Citi, a New York based Grateful Dead tribute band, and The Possums, a Wilmington based Grateful Dead tribute band.
This pay-what-you-can event supports Plastic Ocean Project’s mission to reduce plastic pollution and
protect oceans and waterways for future generations.
In addition to live music, there will be local vendors, artists, and raffles.
The suggested donation is $10 and anyone who donates $25 or more will receive the 2025 event t-shirt while supplies last. The 2026 event t-shirts will be available for purchase.
“This event is about more than music, it’s about bringing people together for the planet,” said
Plastic Ocean Project. “The Grateful Dead community has always embraced connection and
care, and this concert channels that spirit into real environmental impact.”
