WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man has been arrested for allegedly being involved in a downtown Wilmington shooting earlier this month.

Validated gang member Tristian Allen, 18, was arrested Tuesday at an apartment complex in the 4100 block of Randall Parkway by members of the Wilmington Police Department SWAT team.

Allen is charged with one count each of Attempted First Degree Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Felony Carrying a Concealed Weapon (Gun), and Going Armed to the Terror of the Public.

Allen’s charges are stemming from a shooting downtown on October 15th when police say he attempted to shoot another individual around 2:00 a.m. Several shots were fired near the 00 block of Princess Street which led to a large response from law enforcement.

Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

“This individual and others are associated with the gang lifestyle, they are brazen and reckless criminals. These aggressive and violent offenders deserve to be put behind bars,” said Chief Donny Williams. “The Wilmington Police Department has been working with federal, state, and local agencies to remove them from our community.”

Allen is being held at the NHCSO Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond.

This investigation is still ongoing and more arrests are expected, police say.
