Port City Track Club gets two All-Americans at AAU Junior Olympic Championships

GREENSBORO, NC (WWAY) — While the Olympics are underway in Paris, a local track club in Wilmington competing for some medals of their own.

Port City Track Club competed in the AAU Junior Olympic Championships in Greensboro this week. The championships has more than 10,000 athletes competing in track and field events during the seven day event. Port City Track Club was able to have two All-Americans who finished in the top 8 of their events. North Brunswick Junior Luke Jenkins placed 6th in age group 15-16 in discuss, with Wilmington Early College Junior Kateria Peters placing 5th in age group 17-18 in the 1500 meter run.
