Power outage at Atlanta’s Harsfield-Jackson cripples flights
ATLANTA, GA (WWAY) – A power outage reported just after lunchtime Sunday in Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson has left a freeze on outgoing or incoming flights.

The incident is still under investigation according to the airport. They say that they are working with Georgia Power to identify the cause and fix it. The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a ground stop for flights headed to Atlanta at this time.
That includes flights from Wilmington’s ILM. So far the Wilmington airport has reported one departing and arriving flight as “cancelled”.
Delta Airlines has released their own statement for waivers if passengers flights cannot be rescheduled. Below is what they had to say.

RESCHEDULING FLIGHTS
If you wish to cancel your trip as a result of a flight cancellation or significant delay (90 minutes or more), you are entitled to a refund for the unused portion of your ticket. Even if your flight is not canceled, you may make a one-time change to your ticket without fee if you are scheduled to travel to, from, or through the following destination(s) on Delta, Delta Connection®, or Delta-coded flights during the specified time periods listed below.
