Project Grace plans for Michael Jordan Family Museum no longer moving forward

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Plans for a Project Grace museum honoring basketball legend Michael Jordan are no longer moving forward.
The museum was supposed to pay tribute to the hometown legend and be at the corner of Chestnut and 3rd streets.
But the Jordan family has decided not to pursue a Michael Jordan Family Museum at this time.
“While this museum is not moving forward, the county looks forward to its continued partnership with the Jordan family to display memorabilia from Michael Jordan’s life and career in the Cape Fear Museum and appreciates their continued support of our community,” a statement read.
No county funds have been expended on this project to date, nor does this change the existing development agreement with Cape Fear Development, according to a press release.
