Prosecution presents evidence to the jury in 2020 Maple Hill triple murder trial

PENDER COUNTY (WWAY) — The prosecution called witnesses and presented evidence to the jury in a Pender County courtroom on Monday for a 2020 triple murder that occurred in Maple Hill.

Pender County Detective Eric Short took the stand and testified. Short told the court that a Brunswick County man claimed he could find a gun underneath a traffic cone, to which he did. A Glock-19 firearm was presented as evidence in court.

Michael Miller Jr. is on trial. He’s accused of shooting and killing 22-year-old Destiny Denise Greene, who was 7-months pregnant at the time. Miller is also accused of shooting and killing well 26-year-old William Coley III.

Miller was arrested in May of 2021. The trial will continue this week.
