Public meeting set to review revised rezoning plan for Carolina Shores Golf Course

CAROLINA SHORES, NC (WWAY) –A public community meeting is scheduled to review a revised rezoning proposal for the Carolina Shores Golf Course.
The meeting will be held Wednesday, Jan. 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Carolina Shores Town Hall, located at 200 Persimmon Road.
According to a news release, the property owner and developer will present an updated rezoning plan, followed by a question-and-answer period and time for public comments.
Organizers say that the meeting is not an official meeting of any board, commission or committee of the Town of Carolina Shores, and it is not affiliated with the Carolina Shores Property Owners Association.
Residents have previously raised concerns about the proposed rezoning, including potential stormwater and flooding impacts, traffic and evacuation capacity, compliance with the town’s Unified Development Ordinance and the North Carolina Coastal Area Management Act Land Use Plan, tree removal, and long-term responsibilities for stormwater infrastructure and retention pond maintenance.
