Report: Panthers sale down to two bidders

CHARLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — Since the sale of the Carolina Panthers was announced in December, dozens of names were thrown around as to who would purchase the team. That list is reportedly down to two names as the bidding war nears its end.

Today the New York Times reported that David Tepper, many NFL owner’s preferred choice, has backed out from consideration of owning the team.

That leaves Ben Navarro and Alan Kestenbaum as the final two standing in the record-breaking bidding war in Charlotte.

Navarro owns the Sherman Financial Group and Kestenbaum is the Chief Executive of Bedrock Industries.

NFL owners were told in their annual meeting last month that a winning bid could be selected by the end of April.
