Restraining order extended in pet cemetery controversy
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The fate of the dozens of animals buried in a Wilmington pet cemetery is on hold, again.
A judge extended a restraining order today on the new owner of the property where the Walden Pond Pet Cemetery is located off of Market Street. The hearing will now take place on June 1.
Dozens of pet owners are taking the new owner to court after he sent them a letter in April saying they had 90 days to come dig up their pets before he develops the land.
The hearing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. in the New Hanover County courthouse.
