Sandy Paws Animal Hospital sets up shop on Carolina Beach Rd.
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — There’s a new spot in Monkey Junction to take your furry friends who need medical attention.
Sandy Paws Animal Hospital is on Carolina Beach Rd., it’s privately-owned and family-run.
Veterinarian Cassie Mitlitsky said she was strategic in setting up shop. She said she chose to decorate with colors your pets can see to make their visit a little less intimidating.
Her proudest addition is the isolation room. It’s meant to prevent the spread of illness.
She said it’s especially useful during times like now when there is a fatal mysterious canine illness in the air.
Mitlitsky said she wants to look out for not only your sick pet but also for any pet in the office.
“So, any pet that’s sick with something that could potentially be contagious, we make sure that we talk to owners about not coming into the building right away,” Mitlitsky said. “So, that we can walk them in through that back entrance, so they’re not exposed in the lobby to the other pets who are waiting for their wellness appointments.”
Sandy Paws Animal Hospital is open Monday through Saturday.
Mitlitsky said she and her team are accepting new clients.
