SC high school student receives nearly $2 million in scholarships
RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WACH/CNN)– A Midlands high school student is well on her way to meeting her dreams of graduating from college in three years and debt free. Jalen Conyers was offered nearly two million dollars in scholarships from a number of schools.
The Lower Richland High School student has made Honor Roll every semester since elementary school. But she says it didn’t come easy.
“I’d get off work at 11, 12 at night and I’d have a project due the next morning. So I’d have to give up some of my sleep time, sleeping at 3 or 4, having to wake back up at 6,” says Conyers.
Conyers says the key ingredient to her success has been encouragement.
