Schools around Cape Fear will move online or be canceled for Friday

CAPE FEAR, NC (WWAY) — In response to the anticipated impact of Helene, every school county in the Cape Fear will be impacted.

New Hanover: Schools will be remote, and all athletic events have been canceled for Friday.

Brunswick: Schools will be closed for students and staff, and all athletic events have been postponed for Friday.

Bladen: Schools will move online for Friday. Additionally, all afterschool activities for Thursday and Friday are canceled.

Pender: Schools will be moving to remote learning for Friday.

Columbus: Schools will be remote for Friday. Extracurricular activities will continue as planned on Thursday. All extracurricular activities for Friday are canceled.

Whiteville City Schools: Friday will be a teachers work day with no sports or activities happening as well.

Cape Fear Academy will be closed and all after school activities are canceled.

Southeastern Community College will be closed. Learning and work will take place remotely.
