Seahawks escape Campbell at Trask

UNCW wins 77-74 to improve to 16-6

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – UNCW’s Donovan Newby scored a career-high 22 points as the Seahawks held off upset-minded Campbell, 77-74, on Saturday in Coastal Athletic Association men’s basketball action at Trask Coliseum.

The win moves UNCW to 16-6 on the season and will play next at home hosting Drexel on Thursday.

The game resulted in a tie for the UNCW program record for 3point shot attempts in a single contest of 40. That numbers also breaks a CAA record for a conference game.
