CFCC surgical technology students promote program

The downtown campus of Cape Fear Community College turned into an operating room today. Students and faculty in the school's surgical technology program provided information about their field while giving away free goodies and even letting the public practice their skills in operation.

Fallen firefighter's legacy rings on

Family and friends honored the memory of a fallen firefighter today. Capt. John Miller died in a helicopter crash off Carolina Beach Road in 2008. A brass bell was dedicated in his name at Cape Fear Community College's Safety Training Center.
