SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — The Southport Police Department is ramping up their donation campaign for this year’s ‘Shop with a Cop’ program.

Monetary donations can be dropped off at the Southport Police Department on North Howe Street or at Southport City Hall down the road.

You should include ‘shop with a cop’ in the memo line.

“Please consider donating,” police chief Todd Coring said in a statement. “Your donation helps to make a family’s Christmas a little brighter.”

The annual December event helps kids receive gifts for the holiday season by going on a shopping spree with a police officer.

Police say the program is entirely supported by donations, so any amount helps.
