WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The NC Azalea Festival has announced the first two performers for the 2024 Azalea Festival Concert Series.

Singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer T-Pain will take the stage at Live Oak Bank Pavilion on Thursday, April 4. Country music singer Chase Rice will perform on Friday, April 5.

In 2005, T-Pain founded a vanity label imprint, Nappy Boy Entertainment. His debut album, Rappa Ternt Sanga, was released in December 2005 to critical and commercial success.

T-Pain has received two Grammy Awards from twelve nominations: his first with Kanye West for “Good Life” and his second with Jamie Foxx for “Blame It”. In addition, T-Pain was featured as a guest performer on over fifty commercial singles from 2006 to 2010.

Chase Rice has more than 2.4 million albums sold and over 2.5 billion total streams. The festival says Chase consistently sells out venues, including the recently-wrapped Way Down Yonder Tour in support of his new music, and will join both Jelly Roll and Old Dominion for arena shows later this year.

With the critically acclaimed album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell crafted in his rural Tennessee home-turned-studio available everywhere now, Rice’s sound continues to evolve to reflect the realities of his life; from emotional reckoning to an admiration of the Western way of life.

Tickets for both shows go on sale Monday.
