Take a snooze: It’s National Napping Day!

WILMINGTON, NC (CNN) — Now that we’ve sprung forward an hour, I bet you could use a little nap to make up for that house of sleep lost to Daylight Saving.

That’s why Monday is National Napping Day.

The day was created in 1999 by a Boston University professor and his wife to highlight the health benefits of napping.

Experts say a 20 minute nap can enhance motor skills and alertness. It also can help boost your mood and replenish energy levels. Regular, short naps can help lower tension and decrease your risk of heart disease, according to the National Sleep Foundation.

Go ahead and find a cozy spot for a mid-afternoon nap, if you can.
