#TBT: The Manor of Market Street
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Manor was a 600 seat movie theater which once stood on Market Street in Downtown Wilmington.
It opened on December 4, 1941 with a screening of the Bristish film ‘Three Crooked Soldiers,’ also called ‘Sailiors Three’ staring Tommy Trinder. The Manor was one of two movie houses in the Wilmington historic district.
The theater closed in 1985. The Manor’s building later became home to The Rox Nightclub, which is now Ziggy’s By The Sea.
