Teen wanted for Maryland murder arrested in Wilmington
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A teen who was arrested in Wilmington late Monday night has been charged in connection with a Maryland murder.
The U.S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force (VFTF) arrested Steven Jerome Clark, 18, at a relative’s home in the 1100 block of Queen Street around 10:30 p.m.
According to Deputy U.S. Marshal Russ Fields, the teen was wanted for a murder which occurred in Prince George’s County, MD.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) and the Wilmington VFTF searched multiple addresses before finding Clark at a home on Queen Street. Authorities said Clark attempted to escape but was captured by task force members.
Clark was charged with homicide and booked at the New Hanover County Detention Center where he is awaiting extradition to Maryland.
