WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – Already with a share guaranteed, Topsail won their second straight outright Mideastern Conference girls lacrosse title following a 15-8 road win over Laney on Wednesday.

The Bucs had solid defense early on, but Tate Passquantonio put the Pirates on the board just after the eight minute mark. Avery White then added another for Topsail with just 2.9 remaining in the first quarter.

Now the Pirates shift their focus to the postseason.

“It feels amazing,” Passquantonio said. “It’s awesome and it’s great to have it with such an awesome team. I love them so much and it feels great. We’re just so in it together and it’s just so supportive of everyone. We all just work together to get where we are right now. Keep up the positivity and let’s win.”
