Town of Leland, REV Entertainment mutually agree to not move forward with baseball project
"Although the conversation surrounding building a ballpark in Leland is pausing for now, there is hope it will continue in the future."

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — After 18 months of exploring a proposal, baseball is no longer coming to Leland. Town officials made the announcement Thursday afternoon during Town Council.
REV Entertainment and the Town of Leland had planned to bring a minor league or independent league team to the area, but issues with funding had caused the project to lose traction since the initial announcement. Leland claims the development would generate enough tax revenue to pay for the stadium over a 25+year period.
The Town of Leland released a statement Thursday evening:
“There are many additional questions that still need to be addressed regarding the proposed project. The
Town has been identifying and discussing these questions with the developer and REV Entertainment,
while also contemplating public input received, both positive and negative, since the proposal was first
introduced and since the study report was issued. Although the conversation surrounding building a
ballpark in Leland is pausing for now, there is hope it will continue in the future.”
