Trazarien White confirms he has entered transfer portal

UNCW basketball star led team in points and rebounds two straight seasons

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – Trazarien White has confirmed with WWAY that he has entered his name in the transfer portal.

The 6’7 junior forward was a dominant scorer for the Seahawks, averaging 19.8 points a game this year on 49% shooting from the field and 39% from deep. He played for Wilmington for three seasons.

White released a video on his Instagram page Thursday:

“Seahawk Nation, these past three years have been nothing short of amazing. I just want to thank my coaches, my teammates, and the fans. Y’all have given me so much love throughout my journey here and I truly appreciate y’all and I will never forget it. The moments and memories we shared at UNCW will stay with me forever. We brought Trask back to life and I am grateful to have called this place home and I know whereever life takes me, I will always be a Seahawk.”

He scored 27 points in one of UNCW’s biggest wins ever, when the Seahawks defeated the Kentucky Wildcats on the road. The Mansfield, Texas native was also All-CAA First Team Selection. He reached 30 points in three separate games, against Towson on 1/6, Elon on 1/11, and a career-high 38 against Campbell on 2/26.

A source tells WWAY that White has been testing the waters of the NBA draft since March.
