Two people arrested after 9,000 counterfeit fentanyl pills located

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Unit, with the assistance of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Wilmington, seized approximately 9,000 dosage units of counterfeit M30 pills containing fentanyl during February.

During this investigation, detectives were able to identify and arrest two suspects.

Deandre Deshawn Sweet, 33, is charged with trafficking fentanyl.

Sweet remains in the New Hanover County Detention Facility under a $3,000,000 secured bond.

Jeffrey Martin White, 38, is charged with trafficking fentanyl and possession with intent to sell cocaine.
