UNCW announces new unique concession items ahead of exhibition Wednesday
Each home game will have food tailored to the away team. Wednesday's Fayetteville State matchup features Pimento Cheese Sandwiches
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – Trask Coliseum is getting upgrades ahead of the upcoming basketball season.
Fans can also expect some new concessions offerings. With a record 19 home games, there will be plenty of chances to try it all.
“As we got through last season we put a survey out to our fans,” said Athletic Director Michael Oblinger of how this came to be. “We went to our partners on campus, and they came up with creative and locally sourced items to kind of play on our opponents. We’re talking about playing Mount Olive and having fried pickles, boiled peanuts for Spartanburg, or having some flavor from the Baltimore area, Philly area, up around New York City…”
Oblinger adds draft beer is one of the items from the survey that was made evident to add to Trask as well as more points of sale to get fans back to the action as quickly as possible.
There is also an upgrade to the experience in-between the game. UNCW invested in technology to bolster the pageantry.
