WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) –  The UNCW Athletics Department has announced the addition of a video board at Brooks Field for the upcoming season.

“The addition of a video board will enhance the fan experience at Brooks Field,” said UNCW Director of Athletics Michael Oblinger. “This is another step for us in upgrading the facility, which is set to host another great schedule of college baseball.”

The Daktronics video board measures 22.8 feet by 34.8 feet and will have a resolution of 684 x 1044 pixels. It will feature an inning-by-inning scoreline, with a ball-strike-out counter, along with multiple panels for sponsors.

“What an exciting addition to our renovation project!” said Head Coach Randy Hood, who enters his sixth season leading the program in 2025. “On behalf of our baseball program, I’m very thankful to all the donors who made this possible. This new video board will take our fan gameday experience to a whole new level. I can’t wait to see it up and running!”

There will also be a video board installed behind home plate facing the field. That board measures four high by 10 feet wide.

The Seahawks open their season on the weekend of Feb. 14-16, hosting Quinnipiac and SEC power Georgia, which was ranked fourth nationally in Perfect Game’s preseason top-25 released earlier this week.
