UNCW Baseball falls to Princeton 2-1, series is even at 1-1

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — UNCW Baseball fell 2-1 to Princeton on Saturday, evening the three game series to 1-1.
Despite UNCW’s pitchers combining for 19 strikeouts, Princeton had 9 hits in the game which helped them to victory. John Newton for UNCW had two hits on the day. The Seahawks were only able to get four hits in the entire game. Jacob Shafer (0-2) striked out a career-high 10 batters over 5 innings despite the loss.
UNCW now sits at 3-3 on the season, Princeton now 1-1. The series will conclude on Sunday at 1pm at Brooks Field.
