UNCW Men’s hoops fall short to Clemson in benefit game
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)–It was just an exhibition game, but UNCW Men’s basketball came to play on Saturday against the Clemson Tigers. For most of the game the Seahawks held the lead, but when the final buzzer sounded Clemson came away with the 78-67 win.
The game was put on to help raise money to support relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Florence. All together the event raised $25,000 each for the Good Shepherd Center and the UNCW Campus Emergency Fund.
As for the game itself it was the senior Ty Taylor that led UNCW offensively finishing with 17 points, Jaylen Fornes chipped in 15 with all of those coming in the first half.
The Seahawks will wrap up their preseason on Friday, Nov. 2 when they welcome in William Peace to Trask Coliseum set for a 7:00 P.M. tip-off.
