UNCW womens basketball returns home after disappointing road trip

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)–UNCW womens basketball was in both games on their most recent road trip in the conference, but return back to Trask Coliseum with two losses.

The Seahawks fell to Delaware last Friday afternoon 65-53. On Sunday they nearly completed a huge comeback against Drexel, but couldn’t get over the hump losing to the Dragons 67-55. The two losses snapped UNCW’s modest three game winning, but head coach Karen Barefoot says it wasn’t all bad.

“We’ve already tied our amount of wins from last year. We want to continue to build this program and keep building it to another level. I am so eager and excited to get back home and play in front of our passionate fans,” said Barefoot.

The Seahawks now return back to Trask Coliseum where they are 8-0 so far this season. UNCW starts off their homecoming weekend match ups with Hofstra on Friday night with a 7:00 P.M tip-off in Wilmington.
