UNCW Women’s basketball team holding skills, wellness clinic for young players
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Parents and young players have the chance to join the UNCW women’s basketball team for a skills and wellness clinic on the hardwood.
OneSeahawk is hosting a skills and wellness clinic at Trask Coliseum on October 23 at 5 p.m. with the UNCW Women’s basketball team.
Girls and boys in the 8th grade and younger can get on the court with their favorite women’s basketball student-athletes to prepare for the upcoming season. Every participant will receive a free t-shirt, poster, and have the opportunity to get autographs from the team following the clinic.
While the young players hone their basketball skills, parents can explore health and wellness activities with local vendors, including: healthy eating options for kids, posture assessments and general health Q&A with Dr. Ada Suter of Innate Health Family Chiropractic & Wellness, financial and holistic wellness coaching with Samantha Ray Mifsud of Northwestern Mutual, acupuncture with Dr. Gretchen Rivas of Infinity Acupuncture, wellness Reimagined with Renoja Wellness Studios, and complimentary 15-minute stretches with StretchLab of Wilmington.
Shortly after the OneSeahawk event, the UNCW Women’s Basketball team will take the floor for an open practice in Trask Coliseum at 6:30 pm. Clinic participants are invited to stick around to enjoy free food and get a first look at a team poised to take a major step in its second season under Head Coach Nicole Woods.
