UNCW Women’s Soccer home opener ends in 1-1 draw against UNCG

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — School might just be getting underway, but things are heating up on the pitch for UNCW.

UNCW Women’s Soccer began the season with a 2-1 victory over Charlotte on the road. The game would be scoreless for the first half, but the Spartans scored a goal within seconds of the second half.

Just under the 35th min, UNCW would get on the board with a goal by Ayanna Parker to tie the game 1-1. Defensive pressure by both squads would result in a draw as time expired.

UNCW begins the season with a (1-1-0) record and is back in action at home Wednesday against Coastal Carolina at 7pm.
