United Way Media Day raising awareness and support
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Hurricane Florence damaged homes and businesses and it also caused a huge drain on non-profits and local charities that depend on the United Way for funding.
A big part of what the United Way does is provide funding to partner agencies such as Communities in Schools, the Food Bank, the Domestic Violence Shelter and dozens more. The United Way says they always receive more requests for funds from these agencies than their community campaign can support and this year was tough.
United Way Day is a way to help fund more of those programs.
