Iowa City, Iowa (TND) — The University of Iowa’s Caitlin Clark has made history yet again!

The women’s basketball star broke the record for most points scored in women’s college basketball history.

The 22-year-old scored 33 points in the Hawkeyes blowout win over the university of Minnesota, to surpass Lynette Woodard’s record.

Woodard played under the association for inter-collegiate athletics for women, which preceded the NCAA.

After Wednesday’s game, Clark spoke to media and gave credit to Woodard.

Clark now needs just 18 points to break basketball hall of famer Pete Maravich’s record of 3-thousand-667, that he scored at Louisiana State University, which is the all-time NCAA men’s and women’s basketball record.

Clark also announced that she will be forgoing her last year of college eligibility to enter the WNBA draft.

In a post on X.com she also thanked her teammates, coaches and the thousands of fans who have packed arenas throughout the nation to watch her and the sixth-ranked Hawkeyes.

She is the projected #1 overall pick in the next WNBA draft.
