UPDATE: Pender Co. church delivers truck load of supplies to Louisiana

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) —  A Pender County church delivered a truck load of supplies to flood victims in Louisiana.

Pastor Jeff Daw of Lighthouse church in Rocky Point and volunteers have been collecting non-perishable items to take to Louisiana to help thousands of flood victims.

Daw said they took a U-Haul full of water and food to Louisiana last week. He said after dropping the supplies off, the volunteers delivered 1,000 meals to two shelters, three houses and one fire station. Daw said they got back Saturday.

Daw said they are planning a second trip. He said a trucking company donated a 52 foot trailer for them to fill up and they will deliver it.

Daw said Lighthouse is still collecting more supplies every day until 6:00 p.m. at 98 South Tradeway Rocky Point NC 28457.
