VA: We don’t know why water test results differ
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The director of the Fayetteville VA has responded to the New Hanover County Health Department’s statement regarding continued issues with the water at the Wilmington VA clinic.
Director Elizabeth Goolsby said in a statement to WWAY that the VA’s recent tests of the water were from a state certified lab and showed the water was OK for consumption.
“We are concerned by New Hanover County Health Department’s report of their most recent water test results, as they indicate that a problem still exists,” Goolsby said. “We do not have a clear answer for why the NALCO and NHCHD results differ.”
Goolsby finished the statement by saying the VA will work closely with all parties, including the health department and CFPUA, to find a solution that works for all parties. The facility has been unable to consume water or use it for medical procedures since late March.
