Voters flock to polls casting Super Tuesday ballots

LELAND, NC (WWAY)– It’s Super Tuesday in the Cape Fear and across the country.

Several states are holding primary elections today.

Voters are heading to the polls to decide which candidates will move on to be on the ballot in the November election.

Polls opened at 6:30 this morning in Brunswick County. One of the polling locations is the Leland Cultural Arts Center.

Lines have been steady throughout the day, but this afternoon, lines were especially long.

“I’m out here to vote, but I saw the line was really really long so I’m gonna have to come back by. It’s gotta be, I would say, half an hour to 45 minutes something like that. Yeah, you can see the line,” said voter and Leland resident, Jules Sacchetti.

Approximately one-third of all delegates to the presidential nominating conventions can be won on Super Tuesday, more than on any other day.

Polls across the Cape Fear will close at 7:30 tonight.
