Warm January weather draws many to Wrightsville Beach

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY-TV) – It was a warm, January day in the Cape Fear Region on Friday and many flocked to the beach.

Many were seen enjoying the warm temperatures at Wrightsville Beach. Jay Quinzi was one of those beachgoers and is visiting Wilmington from Ohio.

He said it was surprising to be going to the beach in the middle of January.

“It feels great, it’s beautiful out here, I really didn’t think I’d be coming to the beach because last time I came here it was like 30 degrees which was like a month ago,” said Quinzi.

Some businesses near the beach also reported an uptick in customers as the beaches filled up with visitors on Friday.
