Water line break causes temporary boil water advisory
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)- An emergency repair to a water main caused the right hand lane of South 16th Street to temporarily close early on July 18th.
Because of this repair, and the possibility of bacteria entering the water system. The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority placed around 40 customers on a precautionary water boil notice.
Crews responded rather quickly according to spokeswoman for the CFPUA Cammie Bellamy.
“They were able to repair the break fairly quickly and re-establish water service. But they are still re-paving the road meaning this will be in place through the hour hopefully not too much longer. It should be lifted shortly,” Bellamy said.
Bellamy said they are still investigating what caused the water line to break.
If you are in the affected area, the CFPUA will contact you directly regarding when the notice is lifted.
