Water main break to impact Masonboro traffic

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A water main break in New Hanover County is expected to affect traffic during the morning rush Thursday.

CFPUA spokesman Mike McGill says crews are responding to a ruptured main on Masonboro Loop Road just north of the intersection of Foxwood. McGill says crews will most likely close the inbound lane of Masonboro Loop headed toward Monkey Junction as they work, which will impact traffic. Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route before heading out this morning.

McGill says the school district has been alerted, as the work may affect bus routes as well.

CFPUA expects the repair to take several hours. A boil water advisory will also be issued.
