West Brunswick baseball coach TJ Spivey stepping down

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (StarNews) — The decision to walk away from something you love is never easy.

That was certainly the case for West Brunswick baseball coach T.J. Spivey, who is stepping down after three seasons to spend more time with his family and pursue a career outside the classroom.

Spivey got his start as a head coach at South Columbus, spending two seasons in Tabor City before taking the West Brunswick job. His overall record is 89-44, including a 61-21 mark and back-to-back trips to the fourth round of the 3A playoffs with the Trojans.
