WHATS HAPPENING (WWAY) — After a busy weekend with Azalea Festival activities, there will still be no shortage of events taking place this weekend.

In Wilmington, Cape Fear Community College returns its Riverfront Boat Show. The show will highlight the craftsmanship of boat building and showing off CFCC student creations. Its happening on Saturday at 9:30am along the Cape Fear River between Hotel Ballast and Coastline Convention Center.

Also in Wilmington, the return of the Riverfront Farmers Market. Everything from fresh eggs, baked goods, bread and more will be available. It runs from 8am-1pm every Saturday until November 23rd on Dock Street.

In Burgaw, help come clean up the town on “Burgaw Clean Up Day“. This is a part of the 2024 North Carolina Spring Litter Sweep Campaign. The town is looking for volunteers to help pick-up trash around town. Its happening on Saturday from 9am-11am. Volunteers are asked to meet at Town Hall in Burgaw.

In Whiteville, if you’re feeling competitive, go check out the “Innovation Through the Ages” event at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Whiteville. At the event, visitors can learn about the development of hand tools, the history of flight, 3-d printing and renewable energy sources.
