WHATS HAPPENING: April 26th-28th

WHATS HAPPENING — Beginning with something that is spanning all across the Cape Fear, the 38th annual Parade of Homes. The event will showcase several homes and communities across the region. You can explore 57 different homes and 29 different builders while being a free self guided tour. Its happening the next two weekends from 12-5 pm. You can find more information here.

In Lake Waccamaw, the 2nd annual Gator Fest is taking place at Elizabeth Brinkley Park. Local bands will kick-off the event Friday evening, followed by a 1-mile family run and 5k. A festival market will feature live alligators, local craftsman, antiques and more. Its happening this Friday and Saturday, but there is still time to register to compete in the Gator Fest run.

In Southport, if you’re a fan of shrimp, then this is for you. The Red, White and Blue Shrimparoo is taking place at American Fish Company. The event is hosted by the North Carolina 4th of July Festival. Tickets will include a shrimp boil, fried shrimp, shrimp and grits, BBQ and more. Its happening on Sunday from 4-10pm with proceeds benefiting the Southport 4th of July festival.

So if you’re looking for a new home, want to enjoy some food or see some alligators up close, there is definitely something for everyone this weekend.
