CAPE FEAR (WWAY) — With the last weekend of July here, there will be plenty happening in the Cape Fear.

Beginning in Brunswick County, put on your cowboy hat and head to Northwest Land and Cattle in Leland. This local cattle farm is celebrating it Grain Bin Bar opening. There will be live music, food trucks, local vendors and ice cold drinks. This is a family friendly event and dogs on a leash are welcome. Entry to the event is also is free. Its happening from 5-9pm Friday evening at 5014 Northwest Road.

In New Hanover County, enjoy yourself a cocktail for Wilmington’s Espresso Martini Weekend. A whole weekend dedicated to Espresso Martini’s with several locations across the Cape Fear such as The Eagle’s Dare, Kippos, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot and more offering specials. Its happening all weekend long.

Also in Wilmington, the phrase “break a leg” could come into play for your teen. The Thalian Association Community Theater will be holding auditions for their first show of the youth season. Auditions will be held for several available roles in the program “Six: Teen Edition.” Auditions will be held at the Community Arts Center on Saturday at 10am. In Fair Bluff on Saturday, it’s the Annual Watermelon Festival. There will be a watermelon eating contest, a watermelon weigh-in, a pageant, and of course, a parade. There will also be food trucks and plenty of vendors. It takes place on Riverside Drive.
