WHAT’S HAPPENING: Weekend of March 1st-3rd
CAPE FEAR (WWAY) — With March nearly here, there is plenty to do in the Cape Fear this weekend.
Kicking things of this weekend in Brunswick County is the North Carolina Rice Festival in Winnabow. This is the 10th year anniversary of the event. Events are taking place all weekend in honor of the festival, but the festival itself takes place on Saturday, March 2nd at 10am-5:30pm. The festival celebrates the regions history of rice farming with free admission to the public at the Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson Historic Site.
In New Hanover County, comic book and pop culture fans unite for the Coastal Comic Con 2024 at the Wilmington Convention Center. With over 150 vendors and multiple artists, guests will be able to get lost in a world of anime, comics and video games. The event is being held on Saturday, March 2nd from 10am-6pm and Sunday, March 3rd from 11am-5pm. You can find ticket information here. Cosplaying is encouraged!
In Pender County, the Surf City Expo is taking place at the Surf City Community Center. The expo is a showcase for local businesses, products, services and attractions in the surrounding area. The event is free admission and is Saturday, March 2nd from 10am-2pm.
